Come and see us on your way; we are just half-way. A conveniently located rest stop for weary travellers, and a popular gathering place for all local residents.

Originally built in the late 1800’s this was the original local store, bank, doctors, dentist, hardware store and has had many other amazing faces. Weary horses used to tie up here to be fed and watered. Today it has been lovingly restored to become a modern café, with a rustic, old, country feel. It still has a huge treasure trove of old memorabilia from the early 1900’s lovingly looked after by the Faigan’s Trust. Instead of hay, we now have electricity for e-bikes.

We start early each morning to create our own cabinet food on-site, fresh every day and move on to our superb plated lunches and evening delights (on Summer Friday and Saturday nights; phone 03 4 4 66 801 for reservations).

Come, try it and relax on our couch by the fire, or out in our warm, sunny courtyard with a glass of Central Otago wine. If you are travelling and in a hurry, ring us in advance and we will get your coffees ready to go and a Miller-Filler to eat from across the blue bridge. We have a private room suitable for meetings, events, birthday parties or weddings. It is full of memorabilia from the early 1900’s and before. Ask to have a look in our ‘private back room’.
